"Late to the Party"?

Well, maybe so, but you have to admit that lots of us, myself included, arrived at this party before the lights were turned on, and took some losses.

Everybody has there own style. Bowker missed some of the 'up' I caught, but he missed some of the 'down' I caught, too.

I think a lot of money is waiting on the side still, and those buying now are really relatively daring --- buying before Producer Compliance is a proven thing and other indicators (rig statistics, etc) are positive.

A couple of years back a broker from ML called me trying to solicit my business. I was interested at the time in possibly buying some Rational Software (RATL) stock, which had just a few days before suffered a major collapse. I asked him what he thought of RATL, and he said ML would never recommend a stock under the circumstances --- "We'd want to see it build a bottom first.", he told me. This conservative approach has something to be said for it, and I'm sure many use it successfully.

Slider, you have written recently about just wanting to catch the middle of a move. I think a lot of big money does the same thing on a longer time-scale. They are willing to let us have the points (and the risk) here at the bottom on the way up. When the water is less cloudy, they'll come in. They've been at this a long time, and know what they're doing.

Of course, right now we look pretty good too! <VBG>

regards,
diana
