John,

Good luck my friend.

I'm in a down mood today also.... which is really strange for me.

I just don't have any umph!

Let's remember, this is only money.

I hope your health and my health are in check. I'm running 6 miles today at noon, and that will help not only my body, but it really clears out my mind as well. Many days, while jogging, I have thought about market strategies, and come back and immediately lifted Limit buy orders only to see the price drop right through my buys later in the day.... Or limit sell orders, only to see the price blow right past my selling price...

There is nothing we can do about MRVC and its history. I did a zero based budget on where I stood, in December, and reasoned that there a still a lot of fish in the sea out there.

You seem to watch this very closely, every day, as a day trader would. Yet, you are a long term investor...

I still have some MRVC in my long term accounts, but I don't watch it closely any more....

Hopefully, some day this company will be worth something. All of us investors, appear to be engineering oriented, and the things that drew us into the company, will hopefully yield some beneficial results.

Best of luck,

Jack

John >How long does one have to be tormented from making a mistake in judgment?

It took me until now to recover and look again at MRVC with open eyes. We all know the story, and the pain lingers on, either forever or until you get it back!

>The barometer is the stock's price

Not really. Think for yourself ... its either a gift or a trap.

The book value at Dec is $6.57. If you exclude the value of Goodwill, Deferred Tax, Fixed Assets, Financing Costs it drops by $50m to $5.81/share. But we know that they don't have to pay face value to pay off the LT debt so real liquidation value is around $6.50/share. For a tech company that just won two awards at ComNet??? Yes, they have margin problems, but they are not draining cash away and the future has great potential.

I am convinced again that MRVC is a great deal, and I'm buying with both fists ... I even raised my bid this morning to 6 7/16 just to get filled before I go on holidays. I'll put in another bid for 6.25 in case I get as lucky as Sector <g>

Best luck to all,

** David

I do not know whether this management is capable or not. Nor do I know whether or not they will be successful in realizing the full potential of the company and the exciting product lines that their research expenditures have produced. I believe they will or I would not be invested in the stock.

I do know, however, that it is in management's best interests, as well as ours as stockholders, to pay attention to running their business and not to the price of the stock. The stock price will ultimately reflect their abilities and success in running the company. I could not care less about their ability to court the investment bankers and the Wall Street crowd.
