I used to be in the software biz, and know how things can easily go wrong. However, this is no excuse, they are ultimatly responsible for their business, and the reliability is very low here. I'm just thanking my lucky stars I have no critical trades to make today...and I really feel for those who are losing money because of this..

I couldn't agree more re: ETrade's corporate irresponsibility. That was very very stupid of them. Do they think people will just sit back, not be able to trade from their site and say/do nothing??

Can't imagine the idiot who made the decision to "work on enhancements" this morning. I'm normally one who wants the problem itself solved, rather than go on a witch-hunt to place blame, but in this case, the decision-maker should be shot!

I think you're absolutely right. It's adding insult to injury; it seems they think we're that naive to believe that cock and bull statement. Even though I still have an account with them I have not use it for the longest while. I will have it transfer out shortly. Instead of putting up with this reoccurring unhealthy nonsense why don't you and other dissatisfied account holders hit Etrade where it hurts them the most? - their bottom line. It's long overdue that Etrade learn to service their customers professional instead of taking them for granted.
