Looks like Dell is getting serious about the Enterprise server market...

Dell Computer To Expand Network Servers With 8-Chip System

ROUND ROCK, Texas (Dow Jones)--Dell Computer Corp. (DELL) plans to upgrade its enterprise-class servers with Intel Corp.'s (INTC) introduction of its Pentium III Xeon processor to Dell's PowerEdge 6300 and 6350.

In a press release Wednesday, Dell also said it plans to unveil an eight-processor system, based on Intel's Profusion architecture, in the third quarter.

The PowerEdge 6300, a four-processor server, will be available for $7,699, Dell said. The PowerEdge 6350 , a compact, enterprise-class server, will be available for $7,149.

The Dell Precision WorkStation 610 is available with the new 500MHz Pentium III Xeon processor in single- and dual-processor configurations. Dell said it will also offer the 550MHz Pentium III Xeon processor in Dell Precision WorkStations upon general availability.

Dell Precision WorkStations will be available for prices starting at $2,967.

Dorine,

the only thing that is not green today is my wallet. therefore, this is a good time to sell puts. more money for the wallet and fatter premium. remember when it rains the price of an umbrella goes up. so sell umbrellas. in days like this premium for puts rises, so sell puts.

paul.

btw edamo is getting to me: his reluctance in pressing the cap button is contagious.

Hi Dorine,

Did you say Granville??
Is that the same Granville who caused a market crash about 15 years ago when he told all his clients to sell???

Thanks
