Microsoft To Release Windows 98 2nd Edition In Fall
Reuters - Posted at 11:37 p.m. PST Thursday, March 18, 1999

REDMOND, Wash. (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates
said Thursday the company planned to release the second edition of its
Windows 98 operating system in the fall.

Gates said at a launch event for the company's new Internet Explorer 5.0
browser that the operating system upgrade would be sold in retail
stores and be preloaded on most new computers.

Excuse me, I thought this was 1999. You don't suppose they
are reselling '98 because they married their browser to their
operating system, do you?<g>
