What happens when SQL Server 7.0 gains the type of market share that Windows has??? Does Oracle go crying to the DOJ and then we have another DOJ investigation???

I don't think Coke would go down quietly if the DOJ said they need to share their secret Coke formula with Pepsi. What do you think MO would say if DOJ said Malboro has too big a market share??

The next thing you know the DOJ will be sticking their nose into sports. Can you imagine the DOJ telling Jeff Gordon that he's winning too much and to make Nascar more competitive he must use a smaller HP engine than everyone else??

Is this how America rewards companies for being too successful?? I know this would never happen but what if MSFT said today, we will no longer license Windows to anyone anymore and all computer makers/retailers must find another OS. How would you like to see DELL, CPQ, GTW, and every computer store in America go down the tubes in a matter of days. There is no way Linux could handle something like that even if they were gifted 90% of the market share overnight.

The DOJ ought to wake up and spend our hard earned tax dollars on something more productive.

Anyone ever been to Hawaii recently and seen their gas prices?? Gas in Hawaii sells for $1.50 a gallon for Regular, $1.60 for Super, and $1.70 for Supreme. It that isn't monopoly power or price fixing, I don't know what the hell is.

Does anyone know what the DOJ and the 19 States can do if Judge Jackson rules in favor of MSFT?? Do they have the same rights of appeal as the defendant does??
