Becky's column in the Journal was devoted to the mountains of paperwork day traders are facing at tax time and establishing a cost basis for the stocks for short term cap gains calculations.

The issue of the wash sale rule, not being able to buy back a stock you took off as a loss until 31 days have come and gone, is more of a topic to be discussed with a CPA. Will try to do so sooner than later as April 15 looms large. There are several tricks in this regard and I will try to explore them.
