Still - thanks for the info. it sounded good until the last about all the companies investing in the same stocks ((same sectors?). so if one tanks they all do? this stock just broke out very recently on news from the CEO and third parties. before it plateaued for a long time at ~30. this appears to be a long term hold (remainder of year) to see what companies it buys, and/or issues IPOs for subsidiary properties, etc.

Any thoughts on how Thermo Electron will do in the post-Hatsopolis era? The stock certainly looks cheap. After executing the AMEX-NASDAQ merger, I would think the new chief may find intriguing possibilities for harvesting shareholder value through consolidation.
