Robert-Thanks for the response, but a

couple of questions for you, if I may.

1. Isn't it significant that Lambda has a workable model at 157nm?

2.Shouldn't it be a concern that SVGI thought it to be superior to Cymers'?

3. With the costs of installation and more importantly the cost to change primary vendors a factor in lithography decisions, would this
work in Cymers' favor because of their dominance at the 248 and 193 levels, or would companies potentially hold off on 193 and go straight to 157?

Thanks for your consideration,

Craig

Bob: Re: "If you were to judge SVGL and Lambda on their press releases, you would get the impression that they dominate their respective markets. In reality, Lambda is in third place out of three suppliers and SVGL is in fourth place out of four suppliers. They need to issue press releases such as this to maintain the appearance of viability."

Right on. Cymer does not give a rat's ass about Lambda at this point. Komatsu is the more formidable competitor in their eyes. But both are second source threats only. They will get their share of orders and we will worry but in reality it is only natural that someone else be in the market. But Cymer's ace in the hole is that "Insist on Cymer" program has been so successful that chipmakers have approached Cymer to inquire about purchasing lasers directly from them. Can Lambda and Komatsu claim the same? I doubt it. Nice AMAT move in the down cycle by Cymer management to establish product recognition in the eyes of the market.
