The company will install three gateways in Brazil, with investments of US$180 million
What? And no NZ gateway for Maurice. It's a crime...
FYI. Brazilian stocks have perked up this year and the formerly overvalued real seems to have finally stabilized after a wrenching 40% devaluation. Fraga (new finance minister) is an ex-Soros fund man (gotta help G* to help the 25M Soros/Quantum shares), govt firmly committed to free market solutions (i.e., no capital controls), and Wall St./banks seem to approve. Projections for severe recession this year and nice pick-up in 2000 -- just in time for G* :-) Even Cramer yesterday wrote that he was buying Brazilian stocks for the first time in a long while.
