a good stock play I agree, but there are a few huge obstacles to the whole thing... the conversion to a hydrogen based fuel station is NOT cheap and will not be easily accomplished. Also the cost of the fuel cells may be prohibitive for quite a while as will the cost of the vehicles. by Daimlers own admission, the technical barriers have been eliminated, now it is time to make it affordable.....

Still a major breakthrough and a good long term play...

Sure, it will go to the moon<LOL>When was the last time you saw a hydrogen station??????

"Panik told reporters that converting 30 percent of all gasoline stations in California, New York and Massachusetts for alternative fuels would cost $1.4 billion for hydrogen, $400 million for methanol and $200 million for new formula gasoline"

Under 20 would have been the place to buy, and sell into this panic..

BLDPF was a verrrry nice quick play. A good stock, with a great story, involved with some heavyweights. The CNBC effect made it a great play. Thanks for the heads up Panita. $32 to $40 pretty quickly. Pretty safe and now on the dip it is worth keeping an eye on. A double over the next few days? I tend to doubt it, but I have been wrong before.

There are still hurdles, but if they don t wimp out (by using "cleaner" gasoline), and stick to the hydrogen fuel cells, this one could be absolutely HUGE a few years down the road.... maybe 5 or so. The technical considerations are now met, and a hydrogen powered car can now carry 5 people 280 miles and deliver performance comparable to a gasoline powered car.

The science fiction part is behind us, now the problem is infrastructure and economics. Converting gas staions to hydrogen stations costs 5 times what it would cost to use "clean" gasoline, but the savings to the environment are immeasureable.

I will watch this one closely and perhaps sock some away for my retirement.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Cheers
