Well, Microsoft and SDMI had better get an agreement soon or there's NO chance of toppling mp3 anytime soon. I wonder if our friends at nullsoft or elsewhere are working on an open "mp4"ish (I believe mp4 is already a closed standard linked to one company) standard to deal with the streaming problems shoutcast.com is experiencing in scaling up its user base with mp3 streams. If they can't get it done quick sdmi, ms or Mark Cuban may temporarily quell adoption of open music formats.
