I do that too -- buying printer cartridges there. But will primarily peripheral spending support that infrastructure? I doubt it. It is sort of like saying that a new car dealer is in business to make money on parts and service.

Another aspect of CPU: Sales of PC's/Laptops are still growing quickly, but it is the margin pressure/decreased ASPs that are the trouble. Plenty of people are still buying PC's from the local store. And while businesses and net-savvy folks may not always do it, I think a lot of the AOL-types will.
