Ok, but let's assume that for some reason there's an international monetary crisis. Where would the markets head for cover? What would be considered a safe haven in a currency crisis?

If the dollar were to become weaker against other currencies, are you saying that may not have a positive impact on gold prices?

In the late 70's, when mortgage interest rates were in the teens, gold prices were through the roof as well. Do you think this correlation is now totally defunct?

I agree with you but couldn't they use a basket of commodities?
I am curious what you think. Even if they used a basket of commodities do you think that could prevent the leverage ie that
lcma was able to pull out? Would a basket of commodities accomplish
anything?
