Dave, Bookers featuring themselves and their friends has always been a problem in the biz. Ricky Steamboat always complained how he would fight some guy to a sixty minute draw and then the next week Dusty Rhodes would beat the same guy in 5 minutes, which is as long as Dusty could stay upright. <g> Although I did like one of Dusty's ideas that everyone else hated, The Midnight Rider. When Dusty got banned, a mysterious masked cowboy with a beautiful horse, handled by Magnum Terry Allen, would show up at matches and attack the heels. I thought it was a cool idea, but it got booed out of every arena in America. If they had tried the idea with a guy with a somewhat less unique physique, it may have gone over better.

I can imagine that poor horse taking a look at Dusty and saying, "how come the other guys get 110 pound jockeys on their backs?" <g>
