Sounds good. In this case, it was not a matter of blame, but of believing that he was inherently flawed and "less than" a normal person. In my case, I believed my environment and the people surrounding me programmed me that way, so I rebelled against the programming.

I guess it's all in how you look at it!

It has worked for me. I still suffer from shyness, but I don't let it keep me wincing. And some positive feedback can make a world of difference.
