Not really ironic; any delay in GM foods gives Zeneca a better chance to catch up with Monsanto. Part of this is anti-americanism and protectionism.

I find it ironical that amid all this furor and indignation over GM food, Zeneca Plc, a UK co., and JT still go ahead with their plan to form a joint venture to develop genetically engineered agricultural products to compete with Monsanto.
