Can someone explain why a better use of an existing technology is "incomprehensible" to this guy? I mean, herbicides have been used for years on farms all over the world. Does this guy have a clue about farming itself? Perhaps not. Or maybe this isn't what he really said, since it comes from a UK source, which isn't reliable?

(from a BBC article)
The chairman, Professor John Beringer, said in ACRE's annual report that it is "incomprehensible" that the first fruits of a "new and potentially very frightening technology" were herbicide-tolerant crops.
