SEC S-8 filed today: 410,000 more stock options for non-employee directors. Excerpt:

"You have requested our opinion with respect to certain matters in connection with the filing by Valence Technology, Inc. (the "Company") of a Registration Statement on Form S-8 (the "Registration Statement") with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering the offering of up to 410,000 shares of the Company's Common Stock, $.001 par value (the "Shares"), pursuant to its 1996 Non-Employee Directors' Stock Option Plan (the "Plan"). (etc etc)

We consent to the filing of this opinion as an exhibit to the Registration Statement. Very truly yours, COOLEY GODWARD LLP "

Guess SOMEONE thinks the stock will be worth something (!). I recall that the last set of employee stock options were priced at over $7.5/share, earlier this winter.
