no. you have to set up a roth, fund it within 2000/year limits and then buy. a real pain. only other alternative is to convert & pay tax on all gains. graduated conversion window closed on 12/31/98.

I'm not to sure how this works. I think if you open a roth IRA stock account with a broker you should be able to buy and sell from your IRA account I think, or something like that, look into it, call any major broker the should let you know.

By the way if you bought that many share you paid $25,500

By the end of the year it will be worth about $50,000.

A gain of 100% in 8 months, about.

TEcnician, I dont think you can move/transfer/turn securities/shares into IRA at all whether traditional IRA or Roth. Only cash is allowed. Check with you brokerage firm anyway to be certain.
