Susan, Agree with you 100%. That woman who couldn't even get her shares right? " Dah, whatdidIdo?" What she wanted was 1000 shares or something like that and she entered 10,000. No wonder she goes to the gym and beats up a punching bag. If I'd pulled a bonehead like that I'd go to the gym and ask to be the punching bag!
I think this is the media at work, WALL ST. sees that once e-trading is down, a lot of people can hit the bricks. I think the media is trying to scare John Q. Public about day trading.
That it takes nothing but money to get into stocks is not surprising. You have to fill out an hours worth of paper work to adopt a dog or cat but anyone can have a child. Think about that one.
Thanks for the link about GNET/ALLEN, I think this is the media trying to drop the price to Allen's price. If Allen doesn't buy GNET now that everyone knows who GNET is, how long do you think it will take for another if not better deal to come along?
I don't trust the media for my first experience with the media was our military media and body counts. I realized then that people believe often, what they read or are told. To this day most people do not know the truth about My Lai even though Uncle Sam put on a real show last year to make it look like "now the truth is out, we can put this to rest". Learn a lesson from Bill Clinton, if the President of the United States will stand there, look you right in the eye, wag his finger at you and lie, who can you trust? The media?

Howdy Susan, don't you worry about that worked-up woman who worked out after daytrading (was she a hag?) probably exhausted so skewed the context: I'm sure what she meant to say is "She IS The Punching Bag!" What I call a daytrade is a lucky penny pop that doubles by The Close; they others do daytrading, well, all I can say is I personally would have a better time flipping burgers while making more money on minimum wage than most such hyper traders do. Interesting take with Blue on why this would be broadcast on 20/20, now this truly fits the classic script of Newsblubbers hoping that more flounders watching it will identify and then panic sell so that easy continuation pays their check next (Reminds me of The Reporter's Motto which is - Always be setting the stage for more story angles on whatever is covered today). Seen plenty of those on 20/20! Betcha it gave longterm shorts in the Up-And-Coming Financial Sector a momentary ray of hope right about now when they need it LOL! And sponsoring banks might be very happy to watch that show because lately customer dissatisfaction with 2% interest on savings accounts and lower interest on their CD's and Money Markets than the brokers offer has just got to be hurting their easiest earnings. Good for more ads.
Sure do wish I had seen it!
Susan, Thanks for that great link to the Techpaper and the "G" article which helped me to logically line the cappers up before pushing the button, speaking of angles.

Joanie

Howdy Pals, hey Susan here's your Win/Win Situation we got here on GNET.... Got to assume PAllen's got his shares for 90, what he wanted to pay for 'em, before another split....
and Charter Communications is going in with phone companies, maybe ATT, on offering long distance service on cable, and here's a good link to watch paulallen.com
Enjoy that lemon sherbert, Susan, it's made from fresh-squeezed.
Hope your stomach feels better today; the Wildmouse bonerattler part of the rollercoaster ride shouldn't be much longer now...
Hold On To The Bar,
Joanie
