Hi Cheryl
We're a century too late, according to Weird Al's _Amish Paradise_:

As I walk through the valley
Where I harvest my grain
I take a look at my wife
And realize she's very plain
But that's just perfect
For an Amish like me
Because I shun fancy things
Like EE-lectricity
I'm a man of the land
I'm into discipline
Got a bible in my hand
And a beard on my chin
But if I finish all of my chores
And you finish thine
Then tonight we're gonna party
Like it's 1699.

I hope the party's more like 1776
J.L.T.

Cheryl if your point is:
When you backload your repairs and you cannot move your deadline if there is slippage your company is toast,I agree. In fact these numbers indicate to me that these companies and probably most companies planned as they always have knowing full well that the vast majority of IT projects don't complete on time.Problem is, y2k is different,
they won't be able to extend the deadline. We will all find out if it matters in about 9 months.
