Does Dell's profile look better that AOL's?

biz.yahoo.com

biz.yahoo.com

Some major differences:

1. 52 week high
2. Price to earnings
3. Price to Sales
4. Management effectiveness (ROIC)
5. Total cash

I can't figure out why they aren't valued the same. But I'm pretty naive.

Motorola Plans Internet Browsing on All Digital Cellular Phones

Hanover, Germany, March 18 (Bloomberg) -- Motorola Inc., the No. 2 maker of cell phones, said its entire range of digital mobile phones will be able to browse the Internet next year.

The Schaumburg, Illinois-based company also introduced a portfolio of digital communications products, including what it calls the world's smallest and lightest dual band GSM cellular phone, the first tri-band phone and a mobile organizer for its Startac range.

Motorola is trying to catch up No. 1 cellular phone maker Nokia Oyj of Finland, which has surged past its U.S. rival in digital technology for Internet access and wireless data transmission.

The new products were unveiled at the CeBIT technology trade fair in Hanover.

Mobile Internet access is likely to increase rapidly as computers shrink and phones perform more computing functions. Nokia and Microsoft Corp., the No. 1 software company, predict that more mobile phones with Internet access will be sold than laptop computers next year.

Kumar just lowered his revenue estimate on CPQ from 9.6B to 9.4B, and his earnings estimate from .35 to .20! Ouch.

Hope this doesn't hurt Dell today...hopefully, it will be seen as Compaq's problem, and not an overall PC problem...
