In the end DELL will rise above CPQ's problems. DELL always has weathered the storms of 5fers blunders. However, over the short term, this is not good news to open with this morning. With options expiring tomorrow, I just hope we can hold around 42 1/2 to take us in to next week.

HELP! Can any of you long-time DELL-HEADS help me with a decision?

I have (6) count'm--60 March $50 call options in one of my friends accounts. That is $40,000 worth of options that will expire worthless tomorrow. My friend is not too happy. I told him that we could exercise the options @ $50/share. That would mean buying 6,000 shares of DELL @ 50 (over the current r/t price of $42 1/8). I told him that DELL would move up to well over $50/share some time this year. (Could be next week, knowing DELL :o) ). But that is a $300,000 investment after a "loss" of over $40,000 on the options.

My question is, can you help me convince him to make the purchase? I am not as familiar with DELL's stats and history as many of you are. Could you give me a "one page" history that I can use to try to convince him that he would be better off buying the stock rather than LOSING $40,000? (i.e percentage y-o-y growth in share price, etc.) I will also fax him a chart of DELL. BTW, this guy doesn't know DELL from CSCO, so I have to convince him.

Sorry if this sounds like I'm lazy, but you guys are so informed that you could give me the information faster than it would take me to find it myself.

Thank you in advance for your assistance ! ! !
