This is easily solved. Any IPO has an initial price, but *who* gets the shares is determined by the underwriters and brokers. Usually preference in a hot IPO is given to people with big accounts. Whoever is selected for ICG will have to decide whether to set aside shares for SFE, CPQ and others. (I'm sure compaq execs can find a way to buy into the IPO if they want).

Kinda like a regular rights offering, except with a higher price tag.

Impatience yes, but not necessarily institutional. Around 1,000 trades today, avg. trade around 650 sh. That is lower than the average trade a few weeks ago. SL, Don't think it will happen, but would love to be wrong on that opinion. Certainly possible, as I'm sure SFE mgmnt. feels bad about having to suspend rights offerings and would like to do something to reward shareholders for hanging in there. Mike
