First, I made that comment before the times piece. Second, I conceded at the time that it was plausible to me that there had been various contacts, and that it was possible that some of them were disreputable. I just didn't think that that meant that Paula was in the wrong. Third, even if they got advice, the original team of lawyers were not conservative activists, which was the main purport of my characterization. Fourth, the invocation of Occam's razor in this case cuts against the theory of an elaborate scheme to get Clinton, if it is unnecessary to cover the facts.
