I'm curious, which recorder are you referring to? The new DVD-RAM or the 5.25 inch MO? Both are expensive, but the RAM is more geared towards consumer and the 5.25 MO is definitely in the professional/business/government arena.

My earlier comment was in regards to the 4X speed CD-RW drive that records on 650 MB CD-r and Rw media. This hits the consumer market squarely as well as certain business/industrial markets. Approx 4 million CD-RW drives were sold to the market in '98, and is expected to reach an installed base of 210 million drives by 2004. The CD-R media (not CD-RW...yet) is expected to be purchased to the tune of 1 billion disks in 1999 by end users.

Assuming PM can get their marketing act together and be a part of this 'hockey stick' growth curve, they just may be able to figure out a way to make a profit!

I'm not holding my breath though, just my shares.

I said long ago that Pinnacle was a day late and a dollar short of the competition. I say so. The "high" end government and business sales may be great but not for the little guys like us. We get stuck with the bills and still can not afford the product for ourselves.

Come on Pinnacle, we say drop the price sell the bejeebers out of them and get the price of the stock up.
