I won't disagree that, if and when this scenario plays out,
the PE at the bottom would be lower but I also think that it
would take a few years to reach that. Everyone talks about
what happened in 1929 but, if one stayed long, it was '30 and
'31 that really hurt.

and, sooner or later we're going to see high quality stocks paying generous dividends, many with yields at or better than t-bills. ummm, maybe a little price depreciation between now and then.
