Not quite 30 years, sinve about the mid 80s. But that was , for all intents and purposes the beginning. I bought it because I went with soe IRA money one day (about $3500) and tried to buy Novell. My broker convinced me I could buy SFE for the same price and get the private companies for free. That $3500 is now closer to $70,000 (not counting IPOs/rights) Wish I'd bought more. I've traded it in my non-IRA account but never done aswell as simply holding it. I think we're heading into one of the best opptys for SFE in years, FWIW.
