During my previous call I was told CPQ could issue an earnings warning in a news release.

That is a statement - not a question. That the person you spoke to this time did not dispute it is means nothing. This was your question -

Can it make a news release if it expects to exceed earnings estimates?

It's all BS anyway, Lynn, because the answer to this question -

Q: Can you make a news release commenting on the .20 estimate made by that guy at PJ this morning?

should have been: "Yes, we can issue a press release saying we will either beat, make or miss estimates."

I've worked in PR and I know the BS line verrrry well.

Lynn: Thanks for calling IR. I thought the information you procured was very clear and very reasonable. It added slightly to what El had derived from them earlier, in that it has CPQ being a bit ticked off at Kumar employing his usual - late-call tactics.
