John,

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask a question about the potential products being researched by companies like Hyseq and Affx.

I've been a shareholder of IDBEF for several years waiting for them to develop dna tests using what they call 'cycling probe' technology. They've finally succeeded in creating a highly accurate and fast test targeting methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus and filed for FDA approval on March 1. The product will consist of a kit that is used in hospitals to identify people with this bug and isolate them quickly. Their next diagnostic product will id vancomycin resistant enterococcus, another killer in hospitals.

My question is will the chips being developed by Hyseq and Affx be able to do pretty much the same thing? If so, do you have an opinion on how soon they'll be available ?

I thought IDBEF's tests had potential to sell but the market isn't reacting to their filing with the FDA and I'm wondering if it's because their technology is too little, too late in view of what's being developed elsewhere.

Thanks in advance.
