"i regard this such a striking development with value and that as a friendly country, we used the iran's experience to bring about a popular democratic government in venezuela," the president highlighted. he then pointed out, "although our country is located in the west we are not western minded. our culture is a blend of asian, african and european cultures and we are determined to expand our relations with the islamic republic of iran in all possible areas." referring to bilateral cooperation in the area of oil and the oil market on the bases of opec, chavez said, "during the past two decades an irresponsible policy prevailed over venezuela's oil industry. however, we have recently decided to explore all possibilities to bring about stability in oil price in the world market."
