Wolff,

Data collection is the same thing like McDonalds already does in real time when you order from them. Your order is instantly sent to central place where they can determine statistically who's ordering what with what. ie Big Mac and coke or Fish Filet and OJ or some such thing. It gives them an instant survey on what's hot, what to stock, what people are buying etc. It's a much better survey than asking you or sending something in the mail or whatever. Also better for them than listening to some sales rep tell them how "hot" this or that product is and that they should fill their shelves with it. Shelve inventory that doesn't move costs money. They want to spend their money more efficiently and effectively that's all. Not time to be paranoid.

For the record, see my profile. I go both long and short. Right now I'm long the Pod but would go short if I feel it's the right time to do it.

Don't use the service. It's not in my area but if it was I'd definitely give it a try, I hate grocery shopping.
