Equatorial Energy Inc. Announces Successful Production Test in N.W. Alberta

CALGARY, March 18 /CNW/ - President Marshall Abbott announced today
Equatorial Energy Inc. (''Equatorial'' or ''the Company''; Vancouver - ''OZ'')
has successfully production tested the 15-36-83-6 W6 well (100% W.I.) in the
Pica area of northwest Alberta.
The well has tested 10 mmcf/day of liquids - rich, sweet natural gas at a
flowing tubing pressure of 1,350 PSI on 1 inch choke at 20% draw down, from a
6 meter interval within the Kiskatinaw Formation. The cumulative tested
natural gas volume from the Pica well is 80 mmcf with no pressure depletion in
the reservoir. Equatorial's preliminary estimate of recoverable sales gas is
10 BCF.
Equatorial expects to place the well on production at 7.5 mmcf/day
commencing in June 1999 through its 100% owned Pica Gas Plant upon completion
of an 8 mile ($1,000,000) pipeline.
The 15-36 well also tested 1.2 mmcf/d of sweet natural gas from the
Bluesky Formation. In addition, logs indicate 3 meters of pay in the Montney
Formation, which tested 2 mmcf/d of sweet gas in an offsetting well 1 mile to
the east.
The Company holds 100% working interest in 11,000 acres in the Pica area
and intends to delineate the new reserves from all three zones through the
remainder of 1999.
Equatorial is an independent exploration and production company with
operations focused in Western Canada and Indonesia.
