Audiohighway.com <AHWY.O>signs deal with Microsoft
CUPERTINO, Calif., March 18 (Reuters) - Internet-based
information and entertainment company Audiohighway.com said
Thursday it had signed a deal with Microsoft Corp. <MSFT.O> to
provide audio content for the MSN network Web Events site.
Audiohighway.com said it hopes to generate increased
advertising and e-commerce revenues as a result of the
additional traffic to its Web site.
The company said in a statement MSN's new Web Events site
(webevents.msn.com) went "live" on Thursday and features links
to other Web sites that support Microsoft's Media Player audio
and video technology.
Under terms of the deal, Audiohighway.com will integrate
its library of free audio content via headlines on Web Events'
music and entertainment categories.
Clicking on these headlines will allow Web Events' users to
stream and listen to the latest in free audio content from the
audiohighway.com Web site (www.audiohighway.com) such as music,
news, entertainment and comedy selections.
"This agreement with MSN is the first of many forthcoming
agreements designed to create greater awareness of
Audiohighway.com's free audio content and drive more traffic to
our site," said Jay Adams, Audiohighway.com's director of
business development. "By bringing more Internet users to the
audiohighway.com site, we hope to generate more advertising and
e-commerce revenues."
Shares of Audiohighway.com were $4.31 higher at $13 in
active trading on Nasdaq while Microsoft was $2.875 higher at
$170.
