Geoff: I honestly have no idea, but calling the company would probably get an answer. I have enough trouble keeping track of my outgoing calls...

I had assumed the caller would pay the Iridium rate that would have been paid by the Iridium subscriber calling the landline phone from which the call you're referring to is being made.

I know that last sentence makes sense, but it is convoluted, I'll give you that...

FYI- The cost of calls TO an Iridium phone from a landline phone in the Czech Republic are as follows:

Iridium 8816 ~$6.85 USD per minute
Iridium 8817 ~$4.17 USD per minute

Inmarsat Mini-M ~$2.97 USD per minute

(~ is due to the current conversion rate of about 35 Czech Crowns to the US Dollar)

I would be interested in seeing rates from other countries, especially from US landline phones to Iridium phones. (if one is to believe the CIO article its $6.50 per minute to call an Iridium phone, but it would be nice to hear this from a person who has actually been billed 'correctly').

In any case, it would seem that not only do Iridium phone owners need to be "rich business" people, but so must those who are going to call them...!

I understand it's about $3 USD per minute to call a Inmarsat Mini-M phone from a US landline phone.
