DOW up over 100, Naz up about 30 and our DELL just can't get moving. On a positive note, I guess you could say it absorbed the bad news about CPQ today pretty well.

Let's get through expirations and let the reins go on our thoroughbred DELL.

OTOTOT...You might be interested in the latest (3/29/99) issue of Fortune Magazine which has a very interesting article on Qualcomm. QCOM has only 8.2% penetration of cell phones in the USA and way less overseas. QCOM is entirely dependent on CDMA and he has powerful enemies that want other standards. It's obvious that for cellular phones to reach their potential(especially if using data transfer) a single unifying standard that can be used everywhere is necessary. According to the article this issue may be decided by the UTI, an agency of thee UN. Personally I don't have a lot of faith in the often corrupt UN, particularly since companies like Ericcson are closely tied to governments who will pressure the UN.
Unless QCOM is able to maintain some good royalty income and win the standards battle against bigger oponents, I don't see how it can beat the quick moving, rich, customer oriented Nokia. To quote from the article " Qualcom's long-term success depends on it's version of CDMA being embraced outside the US" This is a long shot, IMHO..

<<I'm buying QCOM looking 3, 4, 5 years from now. QCOM is doing more then just CELL phones.. >>

QCOM is to NOKa what 3COM is to CSCO.
