I may have missed this conspiracy angle: What about the possibility that "they" are dising gold so that the "they" that are big oil can raise oil prices without setting off (as much of) the inflation fears that a rise in gold prices brings?

Our local Von's market has a whole new computer system. This replaces the system which was only two years old.

Looks like only government related computers will cease to function!
