It may be best to also look at the IAUS thread on raging bull, different perspectives than here on SI and more people seem to add to the thread, not necessarily us same posters that have been on this thread for the last 3 years or so. ragingbull.com Bob

I have gone down to the store several times. It is in the next town. It works flawlessly. A first time customer does need a little help, if they are a typical boob-tube couch potatoe with the typical high school education which is a fourth grade level, to get the hang of it....(ooh, my english teacher would not be pleased with that sentence!!!) The store seems to be reasonably busy and is fairly well stocked. The prices are similar to the big chains but not as good as a local chain where I normally shop. It looks to me like the system would be ideal for smaller outlying communites that could not support a large store. I can see that you could run the checkout portion with several lanes easily with only one cashier. You still need the usual stocking people and butcher though. BTW they have vacuum packed meat and it is of very good quality. I like it a lot because the packages don't dribble and the meat stays fresher when not exposed to the air. The security arrangements are even better than I thought they would be. There are several cameras around the store and a camera looking down on each checkout area. If someone were to try and cheat the act would be recorded.
