The globalists care nothing for the economic potential of a nation's population or business acumen. They just want to control the potential for economic growth by tying monetary policy to a rare and precious metal that they can control. Controlling the underlying monetary standard permits literally unlimited power over the destiny of nations. Whether or not a nation might have the capacity or technological prowess to expand more rapidly, the globalists can prevent that expansion by controlling the gold resources of the world thus limiting the unruly nation's access to gold. Interesting that the Chinese have used this very technique to eliminate and control free thought in in their country. Tianamen Square rings a bell.
