OJ, how about a range bound market ?? DOW 10,000 IMHO is meaningless except for J6P, who is already fully invested.

The important numbers are unemployment and it is rising in our area - bad for stocks.

The market rose for the wrong reasons

1. Trade Deficit higher - lowers the GDP, but will weaken the $$ and bring about inflation

2. Small retreat in oil prices and the ability of the airlines to raise prices - again inflation

3. MO won in some important litigation - unrelated to the economy.

4. IBM rumored to pre-announce weak earnings hold the DOW at 10,000
