To All the People of this Message Board:

I propose that all of us in this SI message board pool our financial resources and start a new chain of supermarkets in the UK entitled "Frankenstein Foods R US".

We will hand out information brochures to our customers explaining the health and environmental advantages of GM foods and undercut the prices of our "organically correct" competitors.

We will make zillions!

Ok, now I'm being facetious!

Anthony, Dan, thread,

It surprises me that MTC has handled the PR of GM foods so poorly.I would've thought that they would have learned from those that went before, Calgene etc., that there is a vocal minority that gets it's way in the press. Calgene never had a chance against the media savy groups like Nader and Rifkin et all. MTC had to know these folks weren't going to go away, yet they didn't see the need to grease the skids before hand. Oh well, now they pay the price trying to put out fires across the world yet not getting the ahead of the media PR curve. Good thing they decided to let PFE market Celebrex, hate to think what damage they would've done if they tried to do it themselves.
