>>By the year, 2030, I hope that I've made enough money so that I can hire a housekeeper and/or part-time secretary to clean the house and keep track of the many reports and proxies that litter the living room and other parts of the house.<< Mephisto, If you keep holding your SUNW shares, it won't be the reports, and proxies that will be littering your living room - It will all the cash you will have lying around. You will have so much money, you won't know where to keep it! I believe that Sun is capable of carrying out sufficient growth (through revenues and acquisitions) to enable it to split its shares an average of once every three (3) years. I don't think that this is unreasonable given its history, and the history of other similar growth companies. If this occurs we will have witnessed a total of 10 splits during this time period. You do the math. Well, O.K., if you insist, I will . . . Say you have 100 shares of this stock after this upcoming split. Let's start there. Let's be conservative and price these at $50 per share. yr 1 - 100 x 2 = 200 shares @ $50 share = $10,000 2 - 200 x 2 = 400 3 - 400 x 2 = 800 4 - 800 x 2 = 1,600 5 - 1600 x 2 = 3,200 shares @ $50 share = $160,000 6 - 3200 x 2 = 6,400 7 - 6400 x 2 = 12,800 8 - 12800 x 2 = 25,600 9 - 25600 x 2 = 51,200 10 - 51200 x 2 = 102,400 shares @ $50 share = $5,120,000 Now I know that there are a number of variables that would have to be taken into consideration given this model, but I don't want to jump deeply into these now. My point is that in my opinion, Sun is capable of achieving this growth in share value. Now Mephisto, I really don't know how many shares you have now. This model assumes that you only have 50 shares now. Just plug in your current share totals and then . . . "Do the Math". I have said before, that I like what this company is doing, and I plan to buy as much of this stock as I can over the coming years. Take care, Crazy Canuk Oh, and by the way, when you do hire the maid, be sure to check her references.:o)
