What would wallstreettips do differently?

+Hypermart.net serving 17650 domains, 166700 members in all, growing at 10% a month, with e-commerce potential serving the broad spectrum of consumers, not just SI users.

+A high-traffic portal with distinctive technology directing consumers at webpages, news and products

+Communities of players, messageboards

+Go2labs developing additional technology

+SI, which you're using now if you read this far

FWIW, I use GNET's search site, it's #2 or 3 in my usage. The Stock Site news linked to the top of the threads here on SI is too slow from here...it is usually later in getting items there than other non-GNET sites so I don't use it. It should be noted my time on the Web is mostly trading and research...70% stock related 30% other. I spend 6-8 hours per day Mon.-Fri. and some on the weekends. SI is usually opened in a browser 75% of the time while I bounce between 3-4 opened browser windows each with a diff. Web site.

WSTips: I disagree with you. I find SI so endearing and so entertaining, that it's my number 1 site, no hype intended.
I would rather pay $120 a year for SI than for cable television.
It won't be long before subscriptions tenfold, (or more).
I believe that the internet will replace television in time, because it is a
more flexible medium tailored to the subjects that interest individuals.
How often does television or radio financial news bore you because you have already read it
hours before on SI? There is a vast need for information that is more rapid than traditional medias can provide.
Subscription fees increase the quality of the posts, making the site intelligent (for the most part) and adding value.
I believe in this site as a portal. I don't think I'm alone, either....
Its cheap. Its essential. Its fun.
Don't ever sell it short, either literally or figuratively......

My answers;

How many of you that own GNET use GNET websites other than Silicon Investor?

I do use Go2Net for some stock research, I use their StockSite, and I like their search engine. I also believe they need to add some pizzaz, they are a little drab.

I discovered GNET (stock) because I use their StockSite (I like the ticker). I received an email from them when they purchased Silicon Investor and went on NASDAQ. I researched them, watched their stock for awhile and purchased at $18. Today I am 1202.78%, and I like that!

I have always read the posts on SI but did not become a member until recently, I figured GNET has done enough for me, it's time I joined the company of which I own a little piece.

WallST Answers....

I use metacrawler for my search engine for reasons already posted.
use stocksite as my homepage (I love the customizable running ticker) and I use stockwatch feature to moniter all prospective stocks present and past. Playsite is great for a quick game of crib with a friend and I could see getting addicted if I had the time. Most importantly though...I always change the default homepage to Go2net on all the computers of my friends, family, co-workers, etc. AOL and Yahoo are where they are partly because they are "in your face" by default when you log on as joe user. Paul Allen is gonna help put go2net "in your face" (via cable) IMO. Bottom line: The GNET staff kicks ass, the sites/services kick ass, and Paul Allen's money really kicks ass. Stop me if I am overestimating this, but I see world domination on the horizon :~)

"I have been trading GNET since it was 7".....I'm still holding a K that I bought when you started trading. Yew!
