Ronald Reagan certainly lied to the American people. Perjury, no, he was probably never put under oath, but there was enough obstruction in Iran-contra to make insufficient cooperation with Starr laughable. It's hard to pin much on Reagan, though. The Watergate-era "what did he know and when did he know it" has a certain irony in that context.

As to the rape charge, it's an ugly allegation, but it's 21 years old, and outside of the legal realm at this point. Remember the ever-popular "rule of law" bleat? As I said originally, if Starr wanted to impeach on it, he should have said so. If Hyde wanted to impeach on it, he should have brought it up openly in the House. If you guys want to bring it up endlessly that's your right, but it's not, apparently, what Broaddrick wants.

You guys want to hate Clinton, hate him all you want. If the Republicans want to go into the 2000 election on that platform, that's their right, I just think it's dubious, politically.
