Yes, it is very frustrating, especially considering its leadership in IP and VOIP. One would think the price would be a lot higher.

The IPO/spinoff should unlock the hidden value of IDTC's Net2phone, ISP and EZsurf along with the corporate investor.

The recent negative earnings surprise hurt the stock badly.

Until the Netscape deal, IDTC has not really been seen as an Internet stock. Now with that deal and its inclusion into the DJ Internet index, that perception is beginning to change.

IDTC is the only internet company that is covered only by telecon analysts. After the spinoff of net2phone the stock will react like an internet. Right now the stodgy telecon investors don't care and THAT is what makes it such a buy.

<<< Does IDTC have credibility problem with the street? >>>

I think so, and at least the item about IDTC eventually took over Gennie and let the subscribers go down to 5,000 does not help the image of the management of this company. It raised very serious questions about their ability in judgement and their ability in grabbing and evolving good business opportunities.

To me, my thought would go like this. Yes, Net2Phone sounds great and they are the leader. But can they hold on to that leadership position 5 years down the road and deliver major financial benefits for their shareholders? My answer to that question was a "I don't know" "I hope so" and "I have some doubts."

I bet my worry is not alone and that is reflected on the share price. Any other opinions?

PS: Long on IDTC.
