Thanks for the great info on Dell:
<<<Dell, Breaking Its Custom, Is Selling PCs Below $1,000>>>
My comment on this idiot statement is that its somebody's
interpretation of what Dell is doing. Dell hasn't changed its custom at all, Dell provides the low cost solution to computing, and it so happens that component costs have dropped to where Dell can provide
a computer below $1000. Fact is, they have had them( without monitors)
before.
BTW China, Japan, and Korea all up 4% tonight . Looks like the Dow should float thru the 10 k level tomorrow.
My hope is that those who are dropping 5000 shares, and 5000
shares, and 5000 shares on the market at 42 3/8 to keep the price of Dell down for options ex. lose a whole wheelbarrow load of Dell shares and have to buy it back higher next week.
Sig

A computer cost $1,000,000, then $100,000, then $10,000, then $1,000.
The $1,000 machine is better than the previous ones. It was a high level Dell machine a year ago. Many more computers will sell at sub-$1,000 thean could be sold at $100,000 or more. Certainly at least 1,000 times as many. But, the profits should shrink-and the manufacturers may be mostly outside the U.S.
