Indeed, excellent comments by Chambers. His confidence is as inspiring as his industry leadership. Odds are that the LU purchase of ASND will come to be seen as a failed effort, even as it is now considered to have been overpriced. But hey, desperation has its costs.

Your manifest hysteria and your insertion of truculent editorial comments in a copyrighted story merely shows you to be the one who is unbalanced, hardly Chambers.

Chambers is just shameless. As I've noted before, he only disses what he fears most and praises the vanquished (e.g., COMS and Benhamou).

You obviously have an axe to grind or some self-serving motive, as this statement "disses what [you] fear most".

djane, >>>Chambers is just shameless.<<<

I suppose we should rather have a "Black Cloud" Eric Benhamou type for CEO. WRT LU/ASND, the last time I heard Chambers speak, he gave LU all kinds of praise, calling them a gorilla already. What is your problem with Cisco?

Tony

djane,

My good friend. Not sure why you consider Chambers speaking his mind is talking trash. In fact, his thoughts seem to be supported by many in the industry and a number of analysts - as also pointed out in the aritcle. Make no mistake, doing an acquisition is hard. Cisco has done many, and not all of them have succeeded. Given Chambers experience in completing acquisitions I can only assume that he is speaking from experience. I don't consider his comments here as "talking trash", rather they are offering an informed opinion.

Anyway, thanks for the post. Informative article...even though the date that Cisco was a start-up is 10 years off the mark.... that was kinda funny.
