ahh... but a terrorist dies for a purpose. And a terrorist is not stupid. He seeks a certain political goal which would be denied him should he not just disturb the "beast", but fully arouse and enrage him. Terrorists prefer pin-prick attacks that remind the US and others that we're not invulnerable, but yet are not severe enough to create massive retaliation. Note Libya's lack of overt support for terrorist since we launched air strikes against them over the Berlin bombing attack. Sure there are some wackos out there... but hopefully they are being restrained or used on suicide bombings in market squares rather than being given access to biological, chemical, or nuclear weapons.
