Joe, I'll be glad to help you with anything I can with your pup. One of the best things you can do is get ready for her and you have done that. "Water Dog" by Wooters is a great book and we use many of the same methods.
When you start your pup, make it all fun, no serious stuff, that will come later. You want her "birdy" which is natural for her, so just have fun. Get a toy that she can pick up easy and throw it for her. Make a really bid deal of it when she brings it back to you. If she wants to play "keep away" with you, just walk away from her. She will want to be with you so she will follow. Likewise walking away is a great way to get a pup to stretch out retrieves.
Looks like the market will be hot today so I'll have to get some crow ready. A total turn around this afternoon is possible. I'm up so much I have to be more cautious than I would be if I was not up so much. While hunting I won't shoot a sitting duck, that is not true with stocks. It is open season so I may blast a few stocks. 909ers BLUE
